We recently had Chris and team out to our property to dig a 1/3 acre fishing pond and remove a tree. Chris does great work and he's diligent in what he does. You really made my lot he cleaned the undergrowth out from under it and it look beautiful I was amazed at how well the ground cover was done away with. I highly recommend him for any lot cleaning that you need done on your property.

Snead's Outdoor Services started with our owner, Chris Snead, who grew up in the landscaping and power equipment business alongside his father. He took to running machinery early, and once he graded his first plot of land on his father's tractor he was hooked — that is where this company came from.

We are still a small outfit and we like it that way: you talk to the person who will actually load and deliver it. NC river rock, gravel, rip rap, sand, dirt and asphalt millings, dropped where you want them if the ground will take the truck.

Our Material Delivery Process

From your first call to the load on the ground, here is how a material delivery works.

Step 1

You Give Us a Call

Tell us what you need — gravel, sand, river rock, fill dirt, mulch or rip rap — how much of it and where it is going. Not sure how much to order? We will help you work it out.

Step 2

We Load It Up

Your material gets loaded onto our own dump truck at the yard, measured out for your order, with the price settled before it leaves.

We Go Over It at Your Place

When we pull up, we go over it with you first — exactly where you want it dumped, and whether the ground there will take a loaded truck.

The load goes down right where you want it, so you are ready to spread it or get started on the job.

How much does it cost?

Every site is different, so there is no honest flat rate to quote. We come out, look at the job in person and give you a straight number before anything starts — free, and with no obligation to use us.

What material do you sell?

NC river rock, gravel, rip rap, sand, dirt and asphalt millings, delivered to your site. If the job needs something not on that list, ask — we can usually get it.

Can you dump it where I want it?

Usually, as long as the ground will take a loaded truck. If it will not, we will say so rather than leave ruts across your yard.

How do I know how much to order?

Tell us the area you are covering and how deep you want it and we will work it out with you, so you are not paying for a load you do not need.

What equipment do you use?

Caterpillar equipment and other heavy machinery. We are owner-operated, so the person who comes out to quote your job is the one running the machine on it.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Lexington and work across Davidson County and central North Carolina — Winston-Salem, High Point, Thomasville, Asheboro, Denton, Kernersville, Clemmons, Mocksville, Advance, Salisbury, Concord, Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson and the Lake Norman area, plus the communities around them.
