We recently had Chris and team out to our property to dig a 1/3 acre fishing pond and remove a tree. The project included moving a lot of dirt while keeping the aesthetic clean and manageable, and clean up was quick and easy. They were prompt, professional, diligent and just plain good to deal with. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend SOS for any outdoor needs!

Chris does great work and he's diligent in what he does. You really made my lot he cleaned the undergrowth out from under it and it look beautiful I was amazed at how well the ground cover was done away with. I highly recommend him for any lot cleaning that you need done on your property.

I let my yard get away from me. Called Snead's Outdoor services up. They came out and went over their services and options. After they mowed my yard, trimmed my bushes, redid my mulch beds and hauled some gravel for me my yard was looking awesome again. I would high recommend letting them service you.

Snead's Outdoor Services started with our owner, Chris Snead, who grew up in the landscaping and power equipment business alongside his father. He took to running machinery early, and once he graded his first plot of land on his father's tractor he was hooked — that is where this company came from.

We are still a small outfit and we like it that way: the person who walks your ground is the one digging it. We shape and key ponds so they hold water, and put the spoil to use on site where the ground allows.

How much does it cost?

Every site is different, so there is no honest flat rate to quote. We come out, look at the job in person and give you a straight number before anything starts — free, and with no obligation to use us.

Will a pond actually hold water on my property?

That depends on your ground, and it is the first thing we look at. Some soil holds and some does not. We will tell you honestly what we find before you spend anything on digging.

How does the process work?

We start with an on-site look at the land and what you want out of it, then give you an estimate. If you go ahead, we dig and shape the pond, key it so it holds, and grade and seed the banks as the water goes in.

What happens to the dirt that comes out?

Where the ground allows we put it to use on site — building up a low area or shaping the banks — which saves hauling it away.

What equipment do you use?

Caterpillar equipment and other heavy machinery. We are owner-operated, so the person who comes out to quote your job is the one running the machine on it.

What areas do you cover?
